We have just begun our 'This is MY Faith' celebration...Energizing our Faith through prayer, fellowship, ministry, and outreach. This six-week celebration is a time that we pray will build you up in your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and unite our church family together in His love. It is a revival that will encourage you to evangelize our world one friend and neighbor at a time. Events are scheduled from Sunday, September 9 to Sunday, Ocober 14. 2006 was a tremendous year for Faith Assembly of God. We saw the Lord move in miraculous ways through our praise and worship, preaching and teaching. We saw numerous souls come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and many people gloriously baptized in the Holy Spirit. We are thankful for the great work the Holy Spirit accomplished through us in 2006; yet, we know that this was only the beginning of promises given to us many years ago. As such, the Lord began to impress upon us a "new" vision for this ministry. Yet, it is not new in that it was given by Christ in the Book of Luke by the Holy Spirit. We are referring to Luke 4:18-19.
After diligently seeking the Lord's Face for direction, the Lord showed us Luke 4:18-19 and by doing so gave us the emphasis for our future. It is broken down as follows:
God's Spirit is on me;
he's chosen me to preach the Message of good news to
the poor,
Sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and
recovery of sight to the blind,
To set the burdened and battered free,
to announce, "This is God's year to act!"
Luke 4:17-19 (MSG)
"God's Spirit is on me"...We need the anointing of the Holy Spirit to accomplish this great work before us.
"He's chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor"...Christ deals with the economical aspect of man.
"Sent me to announce pardon to prisoners"...Refers to Christ fulfilling the emotional and mental needs of humanity.
"Recovery of sight to the blind"...This refers to Christ as the Answer for the spiritual needs of man.
"To set the burdened and battered free"...Christ came to address the social and physical needs of man.
Here, we have the whole Gospel for "the whole man." Christ came to make us whole. As such, it is incumbent upon this ministry to do the same by the power of the Holy Spirit. Come join us as we endeavor to point the world to Jesus Christ as the Answer for the economical, emotional, spiritual, social, and physical needs of a lost and dying world!
